Introduction to the working state of motorcycle clutch: divided into three states: engaged state, disengaged state, and semi engaged state
Combined state: active and passive friction plates, where power from the engine is transmitted to the gearbox;
Separated state: When we grip the clutch handle, the pressure originally acting on the active and passive friction plates is released, and the active friction plate and passive friction plate are separated. The active friction plate rotates with the engine, and the passive friction plate rotates with the active shaft of the transmission, cutting off power transmission.
Semi coupled state: In this state, the active friction plate and the passive friction plate are neither completely separated, and the power transmission is in a semi discontinuous and semi continuous state.
Among the three states mentioned above, the so-called separation state is only a theoretical one. In fact, due to the active friction plate and passive friction, even in a completely separated state, there will be some friction between the two, where you are next to me and I am next to you; If left in this state for a long time, it is easy to generate high temperatures due to friction, and in severe cases, it can burn out the clutch. This is the main reason why the clutch cannot be in a disengaged state for a long time.
